Fist - Hot Spikes (CD)

Reissue of the 1980 album "Hot Spikes" of Canadian hard rockers FIST. their second album is pretty poppy at times ("Money"), quite bombastic sounding ("Rock N' Roll Suicide") and then simple but effective good times rock ("Hot Spikes"). "Lord I Miss You" is a very pathetic ballad like you would not expect here. Certainly overall not a classic of the century but definitely witness of an exciting period in music history and not only interesting for completists, although the "breakthrough" of FIST took place with the follow-up "Fleet Street". There are no bonus tracks whatsoever. (MS)
