Heathen's Eye - Port Inspiro (CD)

The guys in HEATHEN’S EYE are rather matured players and their debut (!) ist a real bummer und full of groovy and melodic tunes. The Swedes and their melodic metal in the vein of BLACK SABBATH (Tony Martin era), QUEENSRYCHE or even LYNCH MOB are reminiscent of the golden age of rock music without being only retro. "Port Inspiro", which means "inpired by the past" in Esperanto, contains pretty cool rockers ("Mirrorman" or "Firepriest") as well as more quiet, dream-like moments (e.g. "Lost In The Wind"). Frontman Robb Lindh does a great job, having a great range vocally,  and gives you goosebumps at times. For sure, the endless pool of Swedish bands has got one more attraction now. (MS)
