PRIDE & JOY MUSIC RELEASES !!

Alien - Live At Sweden Rock Festival (CD)

  15,99 €

ALIEN are an institution when it comes to AOR and melodic rock. Their gig at Sweden Rock Festival 2025 has been nothing but brilliant and thankfully got recorded. A well-balanced setlist with classics like "Tears Don't Put Out The Fire" or "Go Easy" but also unexpected tracks like the newer "In The End We Fall" and a very authentic, lively sound make this live-document shine. The band is in great shape, especially JJim idhed's voice seems not to age in any way. Additionally, two background singers, male and female, add to the overall sound. A fantastic concert to listen to in your living-room. (MS)

Alicate - Too Bad To Be Good (CD)

  15,99 €

The histoy of ALICATE goes way back to the late eightis but after a long hiatus they are pretty actice again in recent years and the new album "Too Bad To Be Good" is a blueprint for AOR with hard rock elements these days. The Swedes deliver their best album to date - and the previous ones have been great, too. Frontman Jonas Erixon showcases a versatile and expressive voice. By the way, the amazing "Save Our Love" is probably the best "WHITESNAKE song" since their iconic "1987" album. Lovers of PERFECT PLAN, H.E.A.T or TREAT exactly know what to do. Fantastic album! (MS)

KAASIN - The Underworld +1 (CD)

  15,99 €

KAASIN from Norway play traditional hard rock with lots of seventies vibes in the vein of DEEP PURPLE or RAINBOW. The second album "The Underworld" underlines this fact, too. The guys around Jo Henning Kaasin (g, ex COME TASTE THE BAND) are a hot secret. A pristine and multi-facetted production, with especially the bass sound is reminiscent of IRON MAIDEN here and there, highlights the eleven tracks. Frontman Fronter Jan Thore Grefstad (SAINT DEAMON, TNT) does a great job, too, and sings for his life no matter if we talk solid rockers ("he Real World") or initially rather calm tracks ("Iron Horse"). Cool record! (MS)

OVER THE TOP – NEW ARRIVALS !!

Da Vinci - Unfinished Business (2CD)

 19,49 €

Norwegean band Da VINCI with a full bunch of unreleased material from back in the day. The double-decker "Unfinished Business" sheds some light again on the hard rock band that used to be active mostly end of the eighties and early nineties. The band could not get an international, commercial break-through despite remarkable sales in Norway and Japan, though. Let alone "Wait For You", pretty much STAGE DOLLS, and "Where The Eagles Die" with its mighty chorus shine. The second CD delivers demos and alternative versions of well-known tracks of DA VINCI and, to cut it short, we talk a great release here. (MS)

Quadra Nixx - Rock The Night (CD)

 18,99 €

An American band that sounds pretty much like JOURNEY on their mid-eighties "Raised On Radio". A band is way too good to be neclected. Therefore, it's great to see them re-release their only long-player as part of the "Lost Jewels USA" series on Steelheart Records. Sad that this is the only output of this five-piece. You get stadium rock like it should be. TNT, EXTREME oder TRIUMPH are xxpossible references. The band showcased for a deal with EMI back in 1990 but then came Grunge and, well, the rest (unfortunately) is history. (MS)

Phantom Blue - Phantom Blue (CD)

 17,49 €

PHANTOM BLUE, all female hard rock outfit from the States, can be considered as a harder, more guitar-driven version of VIXEN on their 1989 debut given here. Marty Friedman (MEGADETH) partially co-wrote and co-produced the album. Frontwoman Gigi Hangach and Michelle Meldrum (g) are pretty remarkable and essential to the band's sound. Remastered by the one and only Bill Metoyer. Only nine songs, not even 32 minutes long but a very intense record with shining highlights such as "Going Mad" or "Frantic Zone". (MS)

NEW ARRIVALS !!

Blue Murder - Blue Murder (CD)

16,99 €

There are quite many so-called supergroups in classic hard rock. And then there is BLUE MURDER. John Sykes (v/g, WHITESNAKE), Tony Franklin (b, THE FIRM) and Carmen Appice (d, VANILLA FUDGE, KING KOBRA) created magic here. This debut is one of the very best records of the later eighties. The insanely powerful sound (Bob Rock and Mike Fraser), the incredible songwriting and last but not least the whole spirit of the record basically make it some kind of follow-up to WHITESNAKES "1987". Just check out the single "Jelly Roll". Even though the big commercial success did not happen back in the day, it's nothing but a classic among classics. Period. A must-have! (MS)

 Trideli - Jackpot (CD)

17,49 €

Contemporary, slightly funky and massively groovy hard rock with a huge production. Italian outfit TRIDELI convince you with versatile and unforeseeable songwriting. A record with many surprises and a truely great voice in person of Marco Bucci. Songwriter and producer Mike Della Bella delivers a unique and really special band that will hopefully put out more cool music in the future. Tracks like "Here And Now" or "The Loser" make you love them right away. Somewhere between DAN REED NETWORK, DAUGHTRY and THE ANSWER. Unbelievable but true! (MS)

Blue Blud - Early Blood: Demos And Rarities 87 - 92 (CD)

 17,49 €

BLUD Blud from London/England and their melodic hard rock in the vein of . DANGER, TUFF, TIGERTAILZ or FASTER PISSYCAT xxx. BLUE BLUD, that could arouse attention with their 1989 album "The Big Noise" recoreded one or the other demo prior to it and partly released them, too. This collection paints an exciting picture of a then hungry band. You can't expect a top-notch production, though, but that would actually not fit the band, too. Just check out the secret hit "It Never Rains In England". BLUE BLUD did have way more potential than they showcased up to 1991 on their two albums in total. (MS)

Vangouw - Passion Rules +4 (CD)

 16,99 €

VANGOUW around Dutch vocalist Gerard Vangouw basically sound like ZINATRA, CRAAFT or CASANOVA. They were late in 1990 with such a sound in a time with quickly changing music taste in rock and therefore, unfortunately, could not break through. They disbanded shortly after in 1992. "Passion Rules" comes remastered, with enhanced artwork and four bonus cuts. The FLEETWOOD MAC cover "Go Your Own Way" is well-crafted and a highlight on the record as well as the funky "New Horizon" or the pretty bombastic "Make-Up In The Morning". (MS)

Animalyze - Raw & Reckless (CD)

 18,99 €

ANIMALYZE from Denmark were able to arouse attention with their debut "Powerhouse" last year and with some explosive live gigs. "Raw & Reckless" sucessfully bridges the gap to their sophomore album in a very clever way showcasing a handful of unreleased acoustic tracks plus another five powerful live recordings, that go back to their appearence at Copenhagen's Hardrock Cafe in 2025. This band is absolutely true to their favorite era of music which is nothing but pure eighties stadium rock. It's a pure pleasure to listen to and to watch these guys. (MS)

  Asphalt Ballet - Asphalt Ballet +6 (2-CD)

 18,99 €

1991 the debut of the American band from San Diego was released and it contained really strongs moments like "Hell's Kitchen" or "Tuesday's Rain", for example. The sound of the band is reminiscent of the WAR BABIES and it's one of the pretty rare successful attempts to bring typical eighties hard rock from the golden era into the new decade without making old fans turn away. A slightly dark note in the sound fits the material well. Plus, the voice of Gary Jeffries easily beats most of the competitors from back in the day, for instance a certain Axl Rose... A cool Southern Rock touch is the icing on the cake here. 2 CD ltd. edition with 6 bonus tracks on CD 2. (MS)

 Gunshine - Grand Rising (CD)

 18,99 €

Third release of American band GUNSHINE is coming and that's quite a cracker! "Grand Rising" is full of sleazy hard rock in the vein of L.A. GUNS or WARRIOR SOUL. Frontman Jordan Benson is both a vocal powerhouse and actually distant cousin of ELVIS PRESLEY. We don't know whether this icon would have liked the pure, authentic sound of the band or not, but the fans of GUNSHINE love them. Powerful tracks like "Finite" or "Goth Girl" make you rock hard and they stick in your ear. Remarkable, too, are the sharp guitars allover. So obviously, this record is not one for quiet moments. (MS)

  Creye - IV Aftermath (CD)

 16,49 €

The line-up got turned around in Swedish AOR outfit CREYE pretty much. Welcome back, boys! The main songwriters and guitarists Andreas Gullstrand und Fredrik Joakimsson are still in charge luckily. Right away, "Something Missing" unmistakenly points out that the sound of the band is pretty much the same. That's quite surprising just because a new frontman is on board and the continuation of CREYE was all but certain. There are big choruses and a contemporary, keyboard-driven production, like for instance in SEVENTH CRYSTAL, which leaves enough space to rock big time on the eleven tracks, though. "IV Aftermath" is a real cracker. Kick-ass album! (MS)

 Degreed - Curtain Falls (CD)

 16,49 €

Swedish outfit DEGREED do offer their own signature sound probably unlike any other band out there. At times pretty heavy ("One Helluva Ride" or "Holding On To Yesterday"), (a little bit) slower ("Believe") or beautifully dreamy ("Promise Me"). "Curtain Falls" is pretty unpredictable in its absolute unpredictability. Top class production by drummer Mats Eriksson. The songwriting of the band is classic and modern at the same time, therefore it's hard to compare but at times EVERGREY, JD MILLER or SEVENTH CRYSTAL can be mentioned here. A fantastic piece of work - once again! DEGREED are a league on their own! Thumbs up! (MS)

Eric Martin Band - Looks Can Be Deceiving (CD)

 18,99 €

ERIC MARTIN BAND and the 1983 album "Looks Can Be Deceiving", which should have followed to the debut "Sucker For A Pretty Face" and got shelved for forty years unfortunately due to management problems, is a strong contender for seventies-rooted melodic rock of the eighties. Later he became frontman of MR.BIG and, of course, one of the iconic melodic voices of the eighties with his characteristic voice. These wonderful songs are nothing but a treasure box. Bands like FOREIGNER, SURVIVOR oder STINGRAY are some kind of orientation here style-wise. A true gem! (MS)

Gus G. - Steel Burner (CD) Digipack

 17,49 €

GUS G., guitarist of FIREWIND fame, with his first solo effort in five years is back. "Nothing Can Break Me" sees the German metal queen DORO (v) and "Dancing With Death" surprises with Matt Barlow (ex-ICED EARTH) on vocals. Additional guests are Ronnie Romero (RAINBOW) und Dino Jelusick (u.a. ex ANIMAL DRIVE, ELUSICK). Of course, we rather talk a pure metal album here, but one with not only brilliant guitars as one can excpect but also respectable and decent songwriting in general. The production, too, is truely a good one. "Steel Burner" is hot. (MS)

John Corabi - New Day (CD)

 16,49 €

JOHN CORABI, probably best known for his stints with MÖTLEY CRÜE and THE DEAD DAISIES, puts out a pretty seventies-based, organic and authentic solo album, his debut, by the way. The American seems to be influenced by the sixties as well. Very natural rock sounds with an excellent voice and pretty mature songwriting all over the place. Produced by Marti Frederiksen (AEROSMITH, OZZY) and with several guest appearances by, for instance, Paul Taylor (keys, WINGER) or Richard Fortus (g, GUNS'N'ROSES). Just check out the cool title track and the emotional "When I Was Young". Reminiscent of THE BLACK CROWES at times. (MS)

Kid Curry - Fire & Ice (CD)

 18,99 €

KID CURRY, founded in 1985, basically had it all to play the huge arenas with their melodic and anthemic melodic rock and hard rock. But fate had diffferent plans obviously as the band disbanded before their debut album even came out. At times rather AOR ("Desert Hearts"), at times pretty rough ("Young Blooded Rebel" or "Fire & Ice"), and, of course, beautifully ballad-like ("Heartbeat Angel"). This record actually hosts more possible hit singles than some of the successful records from back in the day by competitors like, for instance, POISON, TRIXTER or KIX. Really strong effort! (MS)

Naughty Naughty - Lucky Thirteen (CD)

 18,49 €

American outfit NAUGHTY NAUGHTY from Chicago are a typical "end of eighties band and then came Grunge" story. They have everything, the very looks, the sound and the type of melodic songwriting which pretty much appeals to fans of POISON or FASTER PUSSYCAT among others. But the truth is, too, they didn't stand a chance back in 1991. The band called it a day and all that remains today are these fine songs that, thanks to FnA Records, finally see the light of day. "World Around" is a great example showcasing the slightly sleazy touch of the four-piece. (MS)

Vaudville - Exit To Hollywood (CD)

 18,49 €

Founded 1990, the Americans VAUDVILLE are yet another of those short-lived bands that emerged from the famous club scene of the Sunset Strip in Los Angeles. Unfortunately, they disbanded already in 1993. "Exit To Hollywood" consists of the only two demos they did in the first place and offers cracking, powerful hard rock with a little portion of glam metal, too. Dave LaChance (g, ex-RATED X) and the guys rock like there is no tomorrow. Just check out the melodic "Shake" that could easily be a track by the mighty SKID ROW. Also "Thicker Than Blood" is a great one. (MS)

Fighter V - Deja Vu (CD)

 16,49 €

FIGHTER V from beautiful Switzerland and their very melodic hard rock with album number three. Inspired by the usual suspects WHITESNAKE, SURVIVOR or BON JOVI, this four-piece manages to transport the classic sounds into the here and now without much effort. Swiss bands nowadays obviously go way beyond sounds in the vein of KROKUS and the like but easiiy touch the grounds of contemporary Swedish acts like H.E.A.T. or ECLIPSE. An example? "Raging Heartbeat" with its powerful riffing and its cool hook should be proof enough. (MS)

Sanctum Pyre - He Who Remains +1 (CD)

 18,99 €

Bands like WARLORD, METAL CHURCH, CONCEPTION or ICARUS WITCH, but also HELLOWEEN at times might have been inspiration for this record. SANCTUM PYRE from Greece and their epic melodic metal that includes oriental sounding arrangements offers rich facettes. Nevertheless, there is a lot of straight rock. The strong vocalist Rob Lundgren from Sweden is no stranger to the scene as he also fronts German melodic power metallers MENTALIST. The sound is powerful and dramatic. "The Hammer And The Cross", an emotional half-ballad, is one of the many highlights on "He Who Remains". There is one bonus track included. (MS)

Cave - ...Into The Promised Land (CD)

 16,49 €

CAVE is the "baby" of Chris Lorey (g, IVANHOE) and this sophomore album is even better than the strong debut " Out Of The Cave" (2024). It's energetic and riff-based metal with balls. Some guests like Ronnie Munroe (v, ex METAL CHURCH), who sang on the debut, or Stefan Lill (g, VANDEN PLAS) are the icing on the cake here. A powerful, authentic production gives the songs the air to breathe. "Rise!" or "This Is Us", for example, are compositions that lovers of QUEENSRYCHE, SAVATAGE or MASTERPLAN will dig for sure. Another undeniable argument is new fronter Tommy Laasch (CHINCHILLA), who fully delivers. (MS)

Steel Seal - Fireraiser (CD) Digipack

 15,99 €

STEEL SEAL from beautiful Italy with their fourth effort. The neo-classical power metal and hard rock also incorporates elements of traditional British bands like RAINBOW or DEEP PURPLE. On vocals you get the mighty Fabio Lione (u.a. RHAPSODY), which is quite a good argument here but also the songwriting does not have to hide from the usual competitors. Therefore, LABYRINTH, RHAPSODY, VISION DIVINE or SKYLARK are references, of course. The production is charmingly a bit Underground, though. Raise your swords! Attack! (MS)

 Xtasy - Phoenix (CD)

 14,99 €

Melodic rock with female vocals frm Spain, that's Xtasy for many years. "Phoenix", their fourth effort, could easily be their best and most versatile so far. "Can’t Get Enough" is probably the heaviest track in the band's catalogue yet, but it fits them pretty well. Vocalist Silvia and also the guitars (Jorge Olloqui) showcase much flexibility within the stylistic frame of the melodic genre. And "We Live and Die for Rock ‘n Roll" will become the eternal band anthem for sure. "Time We Won’t Forget" is yet another piece of ear candy here. A great record! (MS)

Takashi - Kamikaze Killers +4 (CD)

 16,49 €

The 1983 EP of the US metallers TAKESHI comes as a fine rerelease by Heaven & Hell Records with four bonus tracks, one of which live, a splendid booklet and remastered sound. The New Yorkers will definitely please fans of KISS, TWISTED SISTER, RATT, MÖTLEY CRÜE or LONDON. "Mad Max" provides quite a good impression of the four-piece. TAKESHI and their riff-based, but constantly melodic compositions are an authentic sound experience from the glory days of rock when rock bands seemed to be unstoppable. (MS)

Dogbane - From The Womb To The Tomb (CD)

 16,49 €

DOGBANE from North Carolina/USA with their fourth album in total. Like the first three. It's full of traditional US metal in the vein of bands like RIOT, TROUBLE or ARGUS. Limited to only 300 copies, without a doubt making it a true collector's item. Mastering by Ty Tabor (KING'S X). Just check out "No Permission Given" which is reminiscent of BLACK SABBATH for the most part or the powerful "Dancing In The Ashes". "From The Womb To The Tomb" is certainly not typicxal party metal but a collection of songs that definitely go deep. (MS)

CLASSIX !!

Danny Wilde - Any Man's Hunger / Danny Wilde / Live In Cocert 1988  (3CD)

 20,49 €

American singer, guitarist and songwriter DANNY WILDE put out really good solo albums right before becoming one half of the commercially pretty successful pop/rock duo THE REMBRANDTS. This nice double decker consists of the records "Any Man's Hunger" (1988) and "Danny Wilde" (1989). Style-wise we mostly talk BRYAN ADAMS, MIKE TRAMP and MITCH MALLOY here. Two great albums full of anthems and a top-class production. The third CD is a 8-track live recording from those days which makes the whole package a really valuable one. (MS)

Silent Running - Deep (CD)

 16,99 €

SILENT RUNNING from Northern Ireland with their third record that came out 1989 and which would be the last for a long time. It is a hybrid of bands like SIMPLE MINDS, DURAN DURAN, GLASS TIGER and U2 on the one hand and typical eighties AOR on the other hand. The four-piece, consisting of Peter Gamble (v), Tony Scott (g), Richard Collett (b) and Ian Gault (d), manages to easily satisfy both rock fans and average radio listeners alike. The production is first class, which comes to no surprise as the band was signed to a major label back in the day. "Deep In The Heart Of Nowhere" or "Strength Of Our Love" are strong teasers here. (MS)

Pipe Dreams - Pipe Dreams +2 (CD)

 16,99 €

Good times eighties hard rock with slices of seventies sounds. PIPE DREAMS with their debut album from 1988 which is available on CD for the first time ever and it is more than nice. The band from Long Island/New York sounds like a cross between TWISTED SISTER, BOSTON and THIN LIZZY topped with little sprinkles of melodic rock. Given the time of recording, the sound is quite good. Just check out the catchy "Upstream, Downstream". Comes with two (live) bonus tracks, that were recorded at the release party of the album back in the day. (MS)

Mantas - Winds Of Change +2 (CD)

 17,49 €

MANTAS and "Winds Of Change" from 1988, that's a record that end of the eighties captured the spirit of the NWOBHM more or less perfectly one last time. VENOM guitarist and founder Mantas (b/g/keys), a.k.a. Jeff Dunn, was able to prove his variety that goes way beyond VENOM with this solo effort impressively. Finest guitars, way above average songwriting and a strong vocalist by the name of Pete Harrison let this gem of a record shine bright. Comes with two bonus cuts, one of which is a FLETTWOOD MAC cover, and extended booklet. Cult record! (MS)

Rock Boulevard - I Got What You Want +2 (CD) Original CD Pressing (2020)

 16,99 €

Here's a band that missed the tail-end of the late great 80's hair-metal parade. A Reno based combo, with a sound that integrates a well balanced mix of hair metal and classic AOR. Lots of melodies, guitar sting, big hooks, a loud vocalist and a tight rhythm section. Other bands similar to these guys included Jillson, Silent Rage and Lillian Axe. Released in 1990 as "Rock Boulevard" only 250 copies ea. got pressed on CD and tape with the intention of pressing more copies in the future - which never happened. That's why this CD became a cult classic which sold for over 1000$ on Ebay. This digitally remastered re-issue contains 2 bonus tracks. Original CD from 2020. (GS)

Rock Boulevard - Stand And Fight +2 (CD) Original CD Pressing (2020)

 16,99 €

In 1990 we saw the release of the Nevada band ROCK BOULEVARD's "Self Titled" CD that became a collectors crown jewel, but the band has recorded plenty of more tracks prior to their debut. Titled "Stand And Fight" which consists of 10 tracks recorded in 1988-89 prior to their debut CD. There have been some lineup changes here and there......as a result, some fresh new sounds are part of the experience. The intitial style blends melodic hard rock that sounds more like US Westcoast melodic hard rock in the RATT school with a BON JOVI influence. The remainder comes off in the vein of a more melodic SKID ROW (debut), with a touch of SILENT RAGE, LILLIAN AXE(early), JILLSON and LANCIA. Original 2020 CD. (GS)

2AM - When Every Second Counts (CD) Original CD Pressing (2022)

 18,99 €

2AM was an English duo featuring singer Dave Lloyd (formerly of NUTZ and RAGE) and guitarist and songwriter Mark Thomas, who released this hi-tech AOR gem in 1987 via RCA Records and were dropped shortly thereafter due to a lack of success—though RCA Records provided absolutely no support for the album. With a sound comparable to MR. MISTER, STABILIZERS, and THINK OUT LOUD, this gem—which was also released in a limited edition on CD—soon became a sought-after rarity, available only at exorbitant prices. Digitally remastered reissue from 2022 on the MelodicRock Classics label, including 1 bonus track and liner notes by Rob Evans. Limited edition of 500 copies; original CD. (GS)

Little America - Anthology (2-CD) Original CD Pressing (2022)

 18,99 €

Little America was a Los Angeles-based quartet that released two great albums during the second half of the 1980s. Their self-titled 1987 debut, produced by John Punter (Strangeways) and featuring the Top 10 hit “Walk On Fire,” as well as their follow-up album “Fairgrounds” (1989), which was released on Geffen Records and produced by none other than Paul Sabu. Due to changes at Geffen Records, not much happened with the album, and the band broke up. Here, you’ll find both of these sought-after albums in digitally remastered form, along with 10 previously unreleased tracks and 5 live songs on 2 CDs. Original double CD from 2022. (GS)

Andy Qunta - Legend In A Loungeroom (2-CD) Original CD Pressing (2021)

 18,99 €

Andy Qunta (pronounced “Kunta”) is a British songwriter and multi-instrumentalist who emigrated to Australia in 1982 and joined the cult band ICEHOUSE as a keyboardist. There, he co-wrote the hit single “Crazy,” among other songs, and also had a hand in John Farnham's mega-hit “You're The Voice.” He wrote songs for Manfred Mann’s Earthband (together with their singer Chris Thompson). In 1988, he was offered a solo deal and recorded the album “Legend In A Loungeroom” (1989) with top U.S. session musicians, featuring the best AOR material in the vein of Tom Kimmel, Brian Spence, Glen Burtnick, and Icehouse. Digitally remastered, bonus CD with 15 tracks. Reissue from 2021. (GS)

Aftermath - Natural Destruction (CD) Original CD Pressing

 8,99 €

American hard rock from 2003 with pretty dominant guitars and a thundering rhythm section? "Natural Destruction" is the only long-player by this band around frontman Joey Dia that got together in 1995. Probably not fully suitable for pure traditionalists, though, but given the impressive range in terms of songwriting, the musicianship and the versatile vocals, this album is remarkable. If you are into the likes of UGLY KID JOE or EXTREME, for example, you might be happy here. Just check out the energetic "Rich Gets Richer" or the melodic "Better Days". (MS)
