The American band MASON, led by Canadian-born Marcus Mason (guitar/vocals), are a prolific bunch as "Edge of Destruction" marks their third album in as many years. Mason’s leadership and his fondness for classic AOR have resulted in a record packed with melodies and classic 80s sounds. Notable guest appearances, such as Jeff Pilson (bass, ex-DOKKEN) and Steve Overland (vocals, FM) on selected tracks, successfully round off this very solid release (arguably MASON’s best to date). The band has also stepped up their game in terms of production. (MS)
