The Storm - Sweet Surrender (CD)

"Sweet Surrender" is the only album from the AOR band led by vocalist Kristina Nichols and keyboardist Karen Childs. Released in 1992, this fine ten-track record offers the perfect sound for fans of VIXEN, HEART, ROMEO'S DAUGHTER or SARAYA. A crystal-clear, yet anything but toothless, production takes the listener on a delightful trip down memory lane. "The Last Time," penned by Robin and Judith Randall, is also known from ABBA's Agnetha, while "Broken", written by Childs, was recorded by DORO back in 1990 for her self-titled album. It is a shame that THE STORM didn't release more material, as they rank among the absolute best in the female-fronted AOR scene. (MS)
