Firesky - Firesky (CD)

FIRESKY, a new outfit from Italy and their melodic rock put out a remarkable first record. Frontman Davide Merletto and the guys, which include Finnish drummer Mika Brushane (IMPERIUM), revive the sound and spirit of bands like DEF LEPPARD, GIANT or JOURNEY in the here and now. They can rock big time ("Chasing The Dawn"), deliver midtempo ("Like Brothers") and have great ballads ("One Last Time"), too. FIRESKY knows their genre pretty well and put melody above everything. The production is powerful and multi-facetted. A track like "Can You Feel Me?" should be a great first glimpse into the band's sound, though. (MS)
