Salty Dog - Lost Treasures + 3 Golden Jewels (CD)

SALTY DOG, founded in 1986, put out one album in 1990 called "Every Dog Has Its Day" but soon after the band calls it quits. But they didn't do it without leaving lots of demos for the sophomore album behind. "Lost Treasures + 3 Golden Jewels" are these songs, some of them really strong efforts, though, which are expanded by three bonus cuts and come out again now. You get solid, slightly sleazy hard rock in the vein of, for instance, LITTLE CAESAR, GREAT WHITE or TESLA. The sound is pretty ok and and tracks like "Damned If I Do" or "Mission On A Hill" are suitable first impressions. A pity that they stopped so early... (MS)
