Mikael Erlandsson - The Second 1 (CD)

Almost thirty years ago these days after the solo debut "The 1“of Swedish artist Mikael Erlandsson (LAST AUTUMN DREAM, AUTUMN’S CHILD) here's the new album, his sixth by now. "The Second 1" is a rock/pop hybrid with cool hooks which are based on the charismatic vocals of Erlandsson. Mix and Master, like on the 1994 output, goes back to Mats M.P. Persson (ROXETTE). One or two prevent an even higher rating here but songs like "Call My Name" or "Ricochet" become favorites quickly. Also beautiful is the powerful ballad "Paper Moon". It's a typical Erlandsson solo record, an album a little bit off the common paths but an album full of passion. (MS)
