New material after over twenty years by Canadian outfit VON GROOVE around Michael Shottn (v/d) and in their original line-up, too. Melodic hard rock with balls and pretty outstanding hooklines. A record that spreads good vibes right away. "Born To Rock" showcases the three-piece in great shape. The song material is well-produced and is partly reminiscent of the sound of the eighties and early nineties but is easily able to stand in the here and now. The charismatic voice of the singing drummer is a cool treat, too. Great to have the boys back. A record that will definitely touch you. (MS)
