White Skies - Shouting At The Hurricane (CD)

British outfit WHITE SKIES fully convinces with their second album. The band around frontman Mick White (ex-SAMSON) consists of experienced players that were in e.g. DANTE FOX or TEN. It's classic rock or AOR with an edge but always highly melodic. The combination of the expressive voice and fine guitars (Ray Callcut of YA YA fame) makes it great stuff for rock lovers. The mighty title track or "If This Is It (Get Ready)", for instance, are multi-layered, mature compositions that stick in your ear. Another cool teaser is the beautiful ballad "I Can’t Make This Alone". With this album, WHITE SKIES finally establishes themselves. (MS)
