Our own June releases (Crying Steel, Rockett Love, Scheff Tolle Adriaens & the Alien s/t re-issue) will be added to the store middle of next week.

PRIDE & JOY MUSIC RELEASES !!

  Sahara - Sahara (CD)

  remastered, limited 500 numbered
Pride & Joy Music Classixx 024

 16,99 €

SAHARA from Sweden and their pure AOR from back in 2001 in the vein of STAGE DOLLS or URBAN TALE appeared to the scene at a time when this very type of music was pretty dead. Nevertheless, it's a true classic. Singer Ulrick Lönnqvist (CODE RED), who more recently works as a songwriter, does a great job behind the mic. Also the pristine guitars by Peter Lidström are nothing but top-notch. Freshly remastered by Harry Hess (HAREM SCAREM). Mostly mid-tempo tracks with fantastic melodies and an outstanding production. One of the most sought-after records in the genre. Grab it! Numbered 500 units only! (MS)

Acacia Avenue - Chapter V (CD)

 15,99 €

Mastermind and multi-instrumentalist Torben Enevoldsen (g, FATE, SECTION A) and his project ACACIA AVENUE with album number five. "Chapter V" offers Peer Johansson (NOW OR NEVER, FATE), Peter Sundell (C.O.P., DECOY), Dagfinn Joensen (BLOODY DICE) as well as recordings by the late and great Tony Mills (SHY, TNT) on vocals. Powerful, classic hard rock at times and also AOR moments of the finest sort awaits the listener here. ACACIA AVENUE is probably one of the most underrated melodic projects out there. But from songwriting to production everything is first class. Let alone the guitar-solo in "Stand Your Ground" shine. Top! (MS)

OVER THE TOP – NEW ARRIVALS !!

  Lake - Four (CD) Digisleeve

 17,49 €

It's a good fifty years, although with a huge break, that the guys in LAKE around Alex Conti (g) are around. Beautifully melodic, emotional rock music by this British-German outfit. The slightly folk-influenced "Wish I Was a Sailor" as well as the hook-driven "Boy On A Mission" are undisputable highlights. Certainly no party music here but highly suitable for quiet and dreamy moments. Real music, well-crafted and well-produced. Kenny Aranoff (JOHN MELLENCAMP, JOHN FOGERTY) is guesting on drums for the most part of the record. Wonderful! AKE are back! (MS)

Ian Wilde - Back To You (CD) EP Digipack

 13,99 €

"Back To You" is a small but fine EP of IAN WILDE from Barcelona/SPAIN. There is one original song ("Guide Us Home") as well as four rather untypical cover versions of HE POINTER SISTERS ("I'm So Excited"), PHIL COLLINS ("Son Of Man"), PAT BENETAR ("We Belong") and ELVIS PRESLEY ("Burning Love"). A beautiful AOR EP with a great voice and fantastic songs in pretty exciting versions. Sonically, the EP strikes a very balanced line between modern production and classic rock spirit. Oz Pettersson (OSUKARU) among others is guesting on guitar. (MS)

Vanden Plas - AcCult 2 (CD)

 16,99 €

VANDEN PLAS are the leading progressive rock and metal band in Germany for a long time. "AcCult 2", the second acoustic album of the five-piece around frontman Andy Kuntz follows "AcCult 1", which came out back in 1996. They are extremely good songwriters as tracks like "Far Off Grace", "The Ghost Experiment" or "Postcard To God" easily prove, even though the two covers "Boat On The River" (STYX) and "Nothing Else Matters" (METALLICA) are really well-crafted, too. John Helliwell (sax) of SUPERTRAMP guests on the closing track "You Fly" and adds some additional magic. Beautiful piece of music! (MS)

NEW ARRIVALS !!

Jared James Nichols - Louder Than Fate (CD)

 16,99 €

JARED JAMES NICOLS is old school hard rock. "Louder Than Fate" is the fourth output of the guitarist, vocalict and songwriter and a burst of energy. Loud, honest, and deeply human, this is JARED JAMES NICHOLS at his absolute best, putting his heart and soul into the ten tracks on the album. Bluesy and at the same time riff-orientated guitars with cool hooklines. Listening to, for instance, "Ghost" or "Bending Or Breaking" you can literally smell and actually feel the Live Club he often plays in. Strong effort for lovers of e.g. THUNDER and QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE. Produced and mixed by Jay Ruston (ANTHRAX, STONE SOUR, STEEL PANTHER). (MS)

Fatal Vision - Four Sides To Every Story (CD)

 15,99 €

FATAL VISION, Canadian melodic rockers, with a new album. Frontman Simon Marwood seems to be a triue workoholic as songwriting, vocals and much more is his responibility alone. "Four Sides To Every Story" is the best effort of the busy band so far and showcases material that should easily please fans of ALICATE, ROULETTE or MASON. "No More Tears To Cry" with its almost epic break and "Girl Against the World" with an irresistable chorus are great first impressions. The sound has improved, too, and highlights the fourteen tracks which cover the whole range of the genre pretty well. (MS)

Turn Back Time - Maybe Tomorrow (CD)

 16,99 €

TURN BACK TIME from Borås/Sweden consists of Christer Green (g/b/keys) and Henrik Svedberg (keys), who use different singers but the songwriting and most of the instruments remains with them. Henrik sings one song ("High"), too. TOTO's "Girl Goodbye" perfectly matches with the rest of the material. Bits and pieces of classic rock and Westcoast spice up the traditional AOR of the duo in a very interesting way. Tracks like "Dancing In The Rain" or "Into The Light" stick in your ear and make you want to hear more. WORK OF ART and CARE OF NIGHT fans should pay special attention here! (MS)

 L.E.G.A.C.Y. - Midnight Riot (CD)

 16,99 €

L.E.G.A.C.Y. is a new project of guitarist Hernán Cattaneo of Argentinian band NEON RIDER. The sound is very melodic, too, with some arena rock moments. "Midnight Riot", the debut of the band, will definitely appeal to fans of, for instance, the likes of GRAND DESIGN, NEON RIDER or HEARTLINE. Just check out the powerful title track as well as "A Place I Called Home" and "My Inner Peace", which exactly showcase the stylistic range of the material. Basically, one could say, it's AOR with balls! Songs that are meant to be performed live, though. Thumbs up! (MS)

Romeo - Deja Vu Letters (CD)

 16,99 €

A fabulous record with timeless but extremely pleasant sounds. ROMEO from Italy play rock music somewhere between retro a la THE DARKNESS and originals like CHEAP TRICK or THE DOGS D’AMOUR with minor elements of pop, punk and hard rock plus much more. "Italian Guy" offers a lot of incredible intense THIN LIZZY vibes. Frontman Max Colliva (v/g) sings without accent and you don't need much fantasy to picture the guys playing the big stages soon. Curious? The aforementioned song plus the single "Frankfurt Lights" are really good teasers. (MS)

Lynch Mob - The Final Ride (live) (CD+DVD)

 17,99 €

A live document recoreded on the recent farewell shows of the band around George Lynch (g, ex-DOKKEN) is about to be released. There are three songs from Lynch' famous DOKKEN era, like the electrifying "Paris Is Burning", among the twelve tracks in total. The sound on "The Final Ride (live)" is comparatively raw and energetic, capturing the (last?) LYNCH MOB line-up with Gabriel Colon on vocals pretty well. The guitars by the master himself are superb as usual and, actually, that's what the band LYNCH MOB is about foremost, isnt' it? Comes with a DVD! (MS)

Boys From Heaven - The Wanderer (CD)

 16,99 €

The new and third output of the Danish band follows the path of the first two and beatiful records without a compromise. A little bit of TOTO here, pretty much soft rock there and a healthy portion of Scandinavian AOR/Melodic rock allover. Frontman Chris Catton not only sings fantastic, he also produced "The Wanderer" first class together with the rest of the band, whereas Erik Martensson (ECLIPSE, W.E.T.) took care of mix and master. The wonderful "Hold Your Heart" is just one example of the sheer quality in terms of melodies, harmonies and arrangements which are simply out of this world. What a record! (MS)

Erik Grönwall - Bad Bones (CD)

 15,99 €

Swedish vocalist ERIK GRÖNWALL, formerly of H.E.A.T and SKID ROW, and most recentlich touring with MICHAEL SCHENKER with his new solo effort. Probably one of the best voices around in melodic rock music fully delivers here with a great vocal range. "Praying For A Miracle", rather slow in the beginning, and the melodic "Born To Break" are just two fine examples of these honest and personal compositions wrapped in an authentic and fresh production. Unlike with some of his former recordings, GRÖNWALL doesn't scream anymore but uses his brilliant voice way better. One of the most exciting releases of the year for sure. (MS)

 Rexoria - Fallen Dimension (CD)

 17,49 €

REXORIA from Sweden with their fourth album. Frontwoman Frida Ohlin and the guys fully deliver here. Two exclusive duets featuring Mike Andersson (TUNGSTEN) and Johnny Gioeli (AXEL RUDI PELL, HARDLINE) shine, too. The production and the songwriting foremost made a huge step forward compared to the earlier efforts of the band. "Dancing On The Ruins" or "Dominion" are good first teasers. Fans of METALITE, DELAIN, NIGHTWISH or DYNAZTY will cry tears of joy. Fallen Dimension" is a massive surprise! That's how symphonic power metal should sound like today. (MS

Crimson Steel - Show No Fear (CD)

 15,99 €

Cool US metal from North Carolina comes across the great pond in form of "Show No Fear". CRIMSON STEEL around frontwoman Tina Langevin don't take prisoners and offer typical eighties metal in the vein of OMEN, SACRED REICH, CIRITH UNGOL or HELSTAR. Authentic, raw and powerful sounds are paired with versatile songwriting here. The playful guitars arean additional argument, though. Tina Langevin sounds like a cross between Jutta Weinhold (ZED YAGO, VELVET VIPER) and James Rivera (HELSTAR) at times. Rivera guests on "Bleed Into One", too. Massive! (MS)

  Confess - Metalmorphosis (CD)

16,99 €

Swedish Sleaze band CONFESS easily transfers the good old sound into the here and now. "Metalmorphosis", their fourth effort in total, brings a certain heaviness and also really cool melodies. Even on record you notice the massive live experience of the band. Everything from songwriting to the fine vocals and the powerful production is top class. The title song is pretty epic in the beginning and "Running To My Death" is a rather fast and heavy rocker(. Of course, the northeners can play slower, too, like in "Beat Of My Heart". Thumbs up! MS)

 Trideli - Jackpot (CD)

17,49 €

Contemporary, slightly funky and massively groovy hard rock with a huge production. Italian outfit TRIDELI convince you with versatile and unforeseeable songwriting. A record with many surprises and a truely great voice in person of Marco Bucci. Songwriter and producer Mike Della Bella delivers a unique and really special band that will hopefully put out more cool music in the future. Tracks like "Here And Now" or "The Loser" make you love them right away. Somewhere between DAN REED NETWORK, DAUGHTRY and THE ANSWER. Unbelievable but true! (MS)

Da Vinci - Unfinished Business (2CD)

 19,49 €

Norwegean band Da VINCI with a full bunch of unreleased material from back in the day. The double-decker "Unfinished Business" sheds some light again on the hard rock band that used to be active mostly end of the eighties and early nineties. The band could not get an international, commercial break-through despite remarkable sales in Norway and Japan, though. Let alone "Wait For You", pretty much STAGE DOLLS, and "Where The Eagles Die" with its mighty chorus shine. The second CD delivers demos and alternative versions of well-known tracks of DA VINCI and, to cut it short, we talk a great release here. (MS)

Blue Blud - Early Blood: Demos And Rarities 87 - 92 (CD)

 17,49 €

BLUD Blud from London/England and their melodic hard rock in the vein of . DANGER, TUFF, TIGERTAILZ or FASTER PISSYCAT xxx. BLUE BLUD, that could arouse attention with their 1989 album "The Big Noise" recoreded one or the other demo prior to it and partly released them, too. This collection paints an exciting picture of a then hungry band. You can't expect a top-notch production, though, but that would actually not fit the band, too. Just check out the secret hit "It Never Rains In England". BLUE BLUD did have way more potential than they showcased up to 1991 on their two albums in total. (MS)

Animalyze - Raw & Reckless (CD)

 18,99 €

ANIMALYZE from Denmark were able to arouse attention with their debut "Powerhouse" last year and with some explosive live gigs. "Raw & Reckless" sucessfully bridges the gap to their sophomore album in a very clever way showcasing a handful of unreleased acoustic tracks plus another five powerful live recordings, that go back to their appearence at Copenhagen's Hardrock Cafe in 2025. This band is absolutely true to their favorite era of music which is nothing but pure eighties stadium rock. It's a pure pleasure to listen to and to watch these guys. (MS)

 Gunshine - Grand Rising (CD)

 18,99 €

Third release of American band GUNSHINE is coming and that's quite a cracker! "Grand Rising" is full of sleazy hard rock in the vein of L.A. GUNS or WARRIOR SOUL. Frontman Jordan Benson is both a vocal powerhouse and actually distant cousin of ELVIS PRESLEY. We don't know whether this icon would have liked the pure, authentic sound of the band or not, but the fans of GUNSHINE love them. Powerful tracks like "Finite" or "Goth Girl" make you rock hard and they stick in your ear. Remarkable, too, are the sharp guitars allover. So obviously, this record is not one for quiet moments. (MS)

 Degreed - Curtain Falls (CD)

 16,49 €

Swedish outfit DEGREED do offer their own signature sound probably unlike any other band out there. At times pretty heavy ("One Helluva Ride" or "Holding On To Yesterday"), (a little bit) slower ("Believe") or beautifully dreamy ("Promise Me"). "Curtain Falls" is pretty unpredictable in its absolute unpredictability. Top class production by drummer Mats Eriksson. The songwriting of the band is classic and modern at the same time, therefore it's hard to compare but at times EVERGREY, JD MILLER or SEVENTH CRYSTAL can be mentioned here. A fantastic piece of work - once again! DEGREED are a league on their own! Thumbs up! (MS)

CLASSIX !!

Silent Running - Deep (CD)

 16,99 €

SILENT RUNNING from Northern Ireland with their third record that came out 1989 and which would be the last for a long time. It is a hybrid of bands like SIMPLE MINDS, DURAN DURAN, GLASS TIGER and U2 on the one hand and typical eighties AOR on the other hand. The four-piece, consisting of Peter Gamble (v), Tony Scott (g), Richard Collett (b) and Ian Gault (d), manages to easily satisfy both rock fans and average radio listeners alike. The production is first class, which comes to no surprise as the band was signed to a major label back in the day. "Deep In The Heart Of Nowhere" or "Strength Of Our Love" are strong teasers here. (MS)

Pipe Dreams - Pipe Dreams +2 (CD)

 16,99 €

Good times eighties hard rock with slices of seventies sounds. PIPE DREAMS with their debut album from 1988 which is available on CD for the first time ever and it is more than nice. The band from Long Island/New York sounds like a cross between TWISTED SISTER, BOSTON and THIN LIZZY topped with little sprinkles of melodic rock. Given the time of recording, the sound is quite good. Just check out the catchy "Upstream, Downstream". Comes with two (live) bonus tracks, that were recorded at the release party of the album back in the day. (MS)

Mantas - Winds Of Change +2 (CD)

 17,49 €

MANTAS and "Winds Of Change" from 1988, that's a record that end of the eighties captured the spirit of the NWOBHM more or less perfectly one last time. VENOM guitarist and founder Mantas (b/g/keys), a.k.a. Jeff Dunn, was able to prove his variety that goes way beyond VENOM with this solo effort impressively. Finest guitars, way above average songwriting and a strong vocalist by the name of Pete Harrison let this gem of a record shine bright. Comes with two bonus cuts, one of which is a FLETTWOOD MAC cover, and extended booklet. Cult record! (MS)

Rock Boulevard - I Got What You Want +2 (CD) Original CD Pressing (2020)

 16,99 €

Here's a band that missed the tail-end of the late great 80's hair-metal parade. A Reno based combo, with a sound that integrates a well balanced mix of hair metal and classic AOR. Lots of melodies, guitar sting, big hooks, a loud vocalist and a tight rhythm section. Other bands similar to these guys included Jillson, Silent Rage and Lillian Axe. Released in 1990 as "Rock Boulevard" only 250 copies ea. got pressed on CD and tape with the intention of pressing more copies in the future - which never happened. That's why this CD became a cult classic which sold for over 1000$ on Ebay. This digitally remastered re-issue contains 2 bonus tracks. Original CD from 2020. (GS)

Rock Boulevard - Stand And Fight +2 (CD) Original CD Pressing (2020)

 16,99 €

In 1990 we saw the release of the Nevada band ROCK BOULEVARD's "Self Titled" CD that became a collectors crown jewel, but the band has recorded plenty of more tracks prior to their debut. Titled "Stand And Fight" which consists of 10 tracks recorded in 1988-89 prior to their debut CD. There have been some lineup changes here and there......as a result, some fresh new sounds are part of the experience. The intitial style blends melodic hard rock that sounds more like US Westcoast melodic hard rock in the RATT school with a BON JOVI influence. The remainder comes off in the vein of a more melodic SKID ROW (debut), with a touch of SILENT RAGE, LILLIAN AXE(early), JILLSON and LANCIA. Original 2020 CD. (GS)

Aftermath - Natural Destruction (CD) Original CD Pressing

 8,99 €

American hard rock from 2003 with pretty dominant guitars and a thundering rhythm section? "Natural Destruction" is the only long-player by this band around frontman Joey Dia that got together in 1995. Probably not fully suitable for pure traditionalists, though, but given the impressive range in terms of songwriting, the musicianship and the versatile vocals, this album is remarkable. If you are into the likes of UGLY KID JOE or EXTREME, for example, you might be happy here. Just check out the energetic "Rich Gets Richer" or the melodic "Better Days". (MS)
