€10.08
Reference: 00189

Having taken up the guitar at the age of 10, Van Stephenson played in a succession of garage bands before meeting veteran songsmith Kenny O‘Dell at 17, teaching the youngster the art of songwriting. Stephenson (by this time residing in Nashville) made his official recording debut with a self-titled album on the small Handshake label in 1981. Produced by Kenny O‘Dell, the album was not a hit, although a track (‚China Girl‘) was to be covered by John Cougar Mellencamp. With a west coast meets the late 70s AOR sound somewhere between THE EAGLES, POCO and PAGES this album has been much sought after since a long time. Deluxe edition incl. 19 bonus tracks through the MelodicRock Classics label, digitally remastered.
