Hugo's Voyage - Inception (CD)

Hugo Valenti (v, OPEN SKYZ, VALENTINE) from New York does not only sound very much like the mighty Steve Perry (v, ex JOURNEY), he also has got his looks. No suprise the American plays lots of shows with HUGO'S VOYAGE as a JOURNEY tribute act for years, although only in the States. Now their first record with original material appears. Also no suprise they sound like probably the most iconic and influential melodic rock and AOR band of all time. "Inception" does not have to hide from (the younger) JOURNEY outputs. Tracks like "Crazy What Love Can Do", "Sound Of A Broken Heart" or "A Friend Like You" are not only well-produced but also shine in terms of songwriting. (MS)
