Ivy Gold - Broken Silence (CD)

Female-fronted blues rock of the better sort. The five-piece band led by frontwoman Manou put out a pretty mature and exciting record. Some of the musicians played wit JOE BONAMASSA or GLENN HUGHES. Second album of the international outfit. It's even better than the really good debut "Six Dusty Winds" (2021). This time, you find some funk and gospel influences, too, although for the most part it's the guitar (Sebastian Eder) and the simply stunning voice of Manou which gives direction here. A very good first glimpse into the world of IVY GOLD is offered by the beautiful title track, a very intense and personal song.
