Open Skyz - Open Skyz (CD)

The New Yorkers OPEN SKYZ put out their only longplayer "Open Skyz" in 1993, which was rather poor timing for obvious reasons for pure AOR. This is the follow-up band to the mighty VALENTINE. Frontman Hugo Valentine is very reminiscent of the mighty Steve Perry (JOURNEY). There is a bit of seventies progressive rock in their sound, too. Massive tracks like "Nothing Without You" or "Every Day Of My Life" make lovers of JOURNEY, GIANT or FIREHOUSE smile big time. And in addition to that, "Can You Take Me There" with its beautiful Perry-esque vocals is a league of its own. Wonderful record! (MS)
