GTG - Great Train Graveyard (CD)

GTG, that's Ben Green (v, COMPASS) Steve Newman (g/keys, NEWMAN, COMPASS) und Rob McEwen (d) and they play classic hard rock. The twelve songs, mostly written by Newman, are a great blend of rock, melody and energy in the spirit of the seventies. The sound and production are powerful and pretty organic, which showcases true love for details. "Borderland" is a very good first step into the world of GTG. The artwork, too, is different in a pleasant way. The British outfit truely set a mark with this debut, hopefully the start of more stuff to come. Hard rock is alive and kicking! (MS)
