REGATTA from Canada only put out a single album ("Regatta", 1989). Nevertheless, they recorded many more tracks until they eventually ended the band in 1992. The second album would have been storming into the territory of GLASS TIGER or HAREM SCAREM easily. Bassist and main songwriter Matthew Gerrard went on to successfully write songs for e.g. CHER, MILEY CYRUS or DISNEY's "High School Musical" after this band called it a day soon after the original release. Another example of the vibrant Canadian rock scene in the 1980s and early 1990s. Unbelievable that these gems have been shelved for so long. Grab it! (MS)
