Neptune - Northern Steel (CD)

In the course of putting out their new album "End Of Time", Swedish melodic metal outfit NEPTUNE is selling some leftovers from their debut "Northern Steel" via Pride & Joy these days. They have been active in the eighties and recorded an EP back then. Stylistically they offer melodic metal with elements of NWOBHM including lyrics about vikings, battles and Northern mythology in general. Here they are even woven into a concept record. Tracks like "Viking Stone", "Fallen Nations" or "Land Of Northern" are best comparable with acts such as DEMON, HAMMERFALL, ACCEPT, SARACEN and STORMWITCH. (MS)
