Saracen - Red Sky (CD)

SARACEN put out their third effort "Red Sky", which came out in 2003 after an almost 20-year-hiatus, again. Back then it put he former NWOBHM band back on the spot. Their very sound can be described as a keyboard-driven cross betwen WARLORD and MAGNUM. The great title track and the beautiful ballad "Castles In The Sand" showcase the musical range of this album. It's timeless and very melodic rock music with a touch each of epic soundscapes, slightly progressive elements and poppy sounds. A remarkable record from an era where this type of music was basically non-existing. (MS)
